Is it just me, or have other people had to put up a protective "product of its time" shield to buffer the differences in mindset?
In the past I've talked about Lemon and her crazy allergies. Not only does her poor tummy not tolerate any grains, and hence the homemade cat food, but she also has asthma and other allergies that affect her respiratory system. Here is Lemon at her last vet appointment. We have been handling the stuffiness/coughing/ wheezing/sneezing… Continue reading Outsmarting a Cat
The evil hackers made me afraid on my own blog. That is not right. I decided I wasn't going to let them win. My absence showed me I wasn't ready to hang up the towel on this adventure yet. So, I took my ball and instead of going home, I went to a safer playground.… Continue reading She’s Back!
Saturday night my website was hacked. Someone came in and put up an alternative post for last Monday. It was an anti-ISIS message. While on one hand I guess it was better than a pro-ISIS message on my website, it has left me feeling vulnerable. Nothing that I can check shows how he got in.… Continue reading Too Much
Back when I was dancing, my life was hyper-organized. It had to be. I was working full-time and between training with Kurt and practicing on my own, I was dancing twenty hours a week. During my dancing career, each weekend day I prepared double-batches for dinner, measuring and freezing up the leftovers. Quickly I ended… Continue reading Do What Works

I attended the SDSU Writers' Conference - two full days of opportunities to learn about the craft and business of writing, and to network with authors, agents, and publishers. Based on past (non-writing) conference experience, I almost skipped the opening keynote speaker, Jonathan Maberry. Typically, those addresses are… Continue reading Writers’ Conference
I was so excited to try my hand at making an aged cheese on January 2nd - my last day off before returning from the holidays. What a great way of starting the new year. I had already purchased all the remaining supplies I needed. I was raring to go. It was going well. I heated… Continue reading Trial Run
This past holiday season brought with it not only our new house, but I received some awesome kitchen implements. I've previously written about another culinary right tool for the job - which ended up being more of a miss ultimately. Hopefully these end up having more longevity. The gift I got from DH2U was the… Continue reading Right Tool
I had not been awake at midnight to welcome in the new year in ages, but that was my goal for New Year's Eve. I saw a meme last week that talked about staying up to see 2016 die, and it sounded like a wonderful idea. And it was a wonderful idea - but I didn't… Continue reading Looking to 2017
